Swan Lake On Ice
Directed and choreographed by Tony Mercer, this wonderful ice spectacular took the audience to dizzying heights of wonder with every step.
Swan Lake is brought to life, not by ballet dancers, but Olympian skaters who dance in the most extraordinary and breathtaking way. Everything about this jaw dropping production screams perfection, the magnificent sets move seamlessly from the Royal palace to the chilly moonlit lake, the stunning costumes that every woman in the audience coveted, the choreography is a delight – this show is glamorous, sexy and totally fabulous. Aerial stunts, a ring of fire and a delightful, if unexpected, happy ending all prove why this company is the crème de la crème of ice dance.
A joy and a privilege to be part of the loud and raucous standing ovation at the end of the night, summed up perfectly by the 9 year old who accompanied me – ‘Nanny, aren’t we lucky to have been here’. Lucky indeed.
