Oogly Es Sin - Bish Bash Bosh Productions

Oogly Es Sin was the first production by Bish Bash Bosh back in 2007 and this terrific piece has been slightly reworked for 2011. During the short time in between we have been treated to wonderful writings by Alan M. Kent, all of which have explored our Cornish history and taken a wry look at our very Cornishness, the things that make us different from the rest of ‘em over the Tamar.

Dusting off Oogly Es Sin was inspired, as audiences have swelled with each new production, many of us missed this superb play first time around. In this towering one man performance Dean Nolan brings to life with love and laughter the famed Cornish Giant Anthony Payne. A man of huge proportions, Payne reached the incredible height of 7ft 4ins by the age of 21, a loyal bodyguard to Sir Bevill Grenville, Payne’s bravery and fearlessness were legendary. Underneath the larger than life bravado was a kind soul – a true gentle giant whose early life was plagued by bullying. Payne’s massive size was equalled by his intelligence, both quick witted and clever he garnered respect and love throughout his adult life.

In this triumphant tale Dean Nolan becomes Anthony Payne, bringing his own wit and charm to his powerhouse performance, gentle and funny, strong and loud, Cornish and proud.

With music by Dalla, this one hour play will delight all ages – for details of the tour visit www.bishbashboshproductions.co.uk
