Charity Shop Cabaret
Charity Shop Cabaret
True West & Trifle Gathering Productions
St. Austell Rugby Club
With the recession biting and car boot sales taking over, Elspeth Garter and her trusty (if
slightly odd) team of volunteers have come up with a brilliant scheme - if the punters won't
come to the charity shop, then the charity shop must come to the punters.
St. Austell Rugby Club was the latest stop on the tour to 'Help The Jaded' - a charity devised
to assist Jazz and Disco dancers who have fallen on hard times. The show was a riot of zany
mayhem, two hours of laugh out loud fun, both visual and verbal and the audience
lapped it up. Although this performance is filled with fun and laughter there are, inevitably, a
couple of standout highlights - the overtly sexual morning tea ritual is comedy genius and
recreating the opening scene of Michael Jackson's Thriller brought roars of approval.
Take my advice and catch this show and become part of one of the best night's entertainment
on offer this summer.
