Beauty & The Beast From Mars
Beauty & The Beast From Mars
Miracle Theatre
Despite freezing conditions, Grampound village hall was packed to capacity for Miracle’s annual winter show.
A brilliant script from Bill Scott and Steve Clarke took us back to the heady days of the 1950’s with Bobby Beauty –an emerging rock n roll star, B movie government officials, aliens, a fabulous nurse straight out of a Carry On film and an ingenious set. The story races along with Bobby accidentally having been accidentally implanted with the secret rocket defence code which sexy alien Bestiana needs to complete her plan for world domination. It’s a race against time as Bobby falls for the alien’s charms, his mother, Major Bunty Tankhurst, along with rapidly transgressing Professor Schadenfreude scour the universe in search of our hapless hero. Nurse Bumper joins the chase and after some rapid and extremely witty one liners, community singing and the inevitable ‘behind yous’, Bobby is rescued and the world can sleep easy in it’s bed.
Once again, the marvellous Miracle has mixed together a cast of the finest performers who revel in the fun of this pantoesque piece. A wonderful piece of escapism and great fun for the whole family.
