Keay Theatre
Organised by BTEC students of Cornwall College St. Austell, this was a night of live music giving the students a great chance to showcase their many talents.
Five bands took to the stage performing their own original material with a few excellent covers thrown in, rocking out the Keay for almost 3 hours. Styles of music ranged from Punk to Indie, each band completely individual and different from their counterparts, and all respecting and enjoying each other’s sets.
The students are a credit to this local college, a multi talented bunch who don’t just play guitars and drums, but round out their differing styles with keyboards, horn sections and some pretty good vocals.
Cornwall is no longer the place where nothing happens, it’s a county of great talents who are being nurtured and given the freedom to explore ideas and perform to live audiences before going on to bigger things; and the students on the Amplified 2010 line up are just starting out on the road to success.
